Jonny Clayton and Nick Kenny kicked off their World Cup of Darts campaign with a victory in Group C on Thursday, June 11, in Frankfurt. The Welsh duo, playing together for the first time after world No. 8 Gerwyn Price was unavailable, secured a winning start in the tournament, which is being broadcast live on Sky Sports through June 14.

Clayton, a former World Cup winner, expressed confidence in his new partnership with Kenny, who was next in the Welsh rankings. “We’ve gelled well in practice, and I feel we can go all the way,” Clayton said after the match. The pair will look to build on their opening win as group play continues.

The World Cup of Darts features teams from 40 nations competing in Frankfurt, with the group stage running from June 11-13 before the knockout rounds on June 14. Clayton and Kenny’s next group match is scheduled for Friday, June 12.
