The PDC Women's Series returns today for more action at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan, with the top names in the women's game competing for the £2,500 top prize. Events 15 and 16 will take place on Sunday, starting at 10am BST, as the race to the Women's World Matchplay reaches its climax. The top eight players on the rolling 12-month Women's Series following Sunday's action will seal their spots in the Women's World Matchplay, which will be held in Blackpool on July 26.
Beau Greaves has continued her dominant form, winning both titles on Saturday. This comes after the last double header, which saw Vicky Pruim win the final title and Greaves was skittled out twice by Gemma Hayter and Rhian O'Sullivan. However, Greaves might soon not be able to play as she heads towards the top 64, potentially unlocking the same situation as Sebastian Bialecki, who is dominating the Development Tour and could not play going forward.
As well as Greaves, the usual faces are in attendance, including Fallon Sherrock and Lisa Ashton, among others. Notably, Noa-Lynn van Leuven is not allowed to play due to a recent IOC ban on transgender players, which has been adopted by the PDC. Deta Hedman and others have decided to play Six Nations this weekend instead, so they are not in attendance. WDF Women's Champion Deta Hedman is representing England in the Six Nations.
The prizes on offer include spots at the Women's World Matchplay, which is run on a year-round system from July until the following season. The PDC World Darts Championship and Grand Slam of Darts also offer multiple spots. Unlike the Challenge Tour or Development Tour, there are no Tour Cards for the champion. All action is on PDCTV or DartConnect, with two tournaments on Sunday.
