The draw for the fifth edition of the Women's World Matchplay has been released, with the tournament set to take place on Sunday 26th July at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. The winner will receive £15,000, raised from £10,000, and will also secure a spot in the 2026 Grand Slam of Darts.
Defending champion Lisa Ashton, who stunned two-time winner Beau Greaves en route to the title last year before defeating Fallon Sherrock 6-5 in the final, returns as the second seed. She will begin her title defence against Irishwoman Rhian O'Sullivan, who is making her third appearance in the showpiece event.
Beau Greaves, the number one seed and dominant force on the Women's Series, is seeking revenge after losing in the final last year. She has won 114 consecutive matches on the Women's Series between April 2025 and March 2026. Greaves faces number eight seed Kirsi Viinikainen, who lost to Greaves at this stage last year. Fallon Sherrock, winner of the inaugural event in 2022 and runner-up in the last two finals, has been drawn against debutant Deta Hedman, the WDF world champion who clinched a second Women's Series title last month. Gemma Hayter returns to action against another debutant, Sweden's Vicky Pruim, with a possible semi-final clash against Greaves as a potential reward.
The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played over the best of nine legs, with the final increasing to the best of 11 legs. The full draw is as follows: QF1: Beau Greaves (1) v Kirsi Viinikainen (8); QF2: Gemma Hayter (4) v Vicky Pruim (5); QF3: Lisa Ashton (2) v Rhian O'Sullivan (7); QF4: Fallon Sherrock (3) v Deta Hedman (6).
