Luke Humphries has reclaimed the world No.2 spot on the PDC Order of Merit after a successful return to Players Championship action in Leicester. The former world number one won Players Championship 28 on Wednesday, moving him onto £1,015,500 in ranking prize money and lifting him above Gian van Veen into second place. Humphries now leads Van Veen by £18,250, while Luke Littler remains comfortably clear at the top of the world rankings.
There has otherwise been little movement inside the top 10. Gerwyn Price remains fourth following his run to the World Matchplay final in July, with Jonny Clayton fifth. James Wade, Michael van Gerwen, Josh Rock and Stephen Bunting continue to occupy positions six through nine. Gary Anderson is the one new arrival in the top 10, climbing one place to 10th, while Danny Noppert drops to 11th and now trails the Scot by £5,000.
Jermaine Wattimena also enjoyed a significant week in Leicester. The Dutchman won Players Championship 27 on Tuesday to claim his first ProTour title of 2026 and, in the process, climbed to 16th on the Order of Merit for the first time in his career. That rise pushes Ross Smith down to 17th, while Ryan Searle, Wessel Nijman, Chris Dobey and Nathan Aspinall remain in positions 12 through 15.
Rob Cross is another player continuing to move in the right direction. The former world champion has climbed back to 21st, although he still sits just under £100,000 behind Wattimena. Dirk van Duijvenbode has slipped one place to 22nd as a result. Further down, Mike De Decker remains 24th on £413,500, but his position is set to come under serious pressure at the end of September. The Belgian has £120,000 due to come off his ranking from his 2024 World Grand Prix title and will not be competing at this year's event, meaning he cannot defend that money. He currently sits £116,500 ahead of world number 32 Ritchie Edhouse, but that expiring prize money means De Decker is on course to fall outside the top 32 next month.
Kevin Doets, meanwhile, continues to climb after a strong season on the floor and is now up to 28th. Dave Chisnall, Daryl Gurney and Joe Cullen remain narrowly inside the top 32. Just below the cut line sit Ricardo Pietreczko, Michael Smith and Peter Wright, with several players now beginning to close the gap from behind. The battle around 64th is also beginning to tighten. Nick Kenny currently occupies the final provisional top-64 position on £117,000, but a number of players below him are making progress. Cristo Reyes has climbed to 71st on £80,000 after regaining his Tour Card in January and regularly qualifying for European Tour events. Beau Greaves is another name firmly in the conversation, with the 21-year-old already up to 77th on £64,500. With several major events still to come, the lower end of the Order of Merit could yet shift significantly before the end of the season.
