Noa-Lynn van Leuven delivered a historic moment on Wednesday at the MODUS Super Series. The 29-year-old Dutch player hit a nine-darter in Week Five, joining a very select group of female players to achieve the feat on television.
Van Leuven faced Daniel Klose on Wednesday afternoon in Group A. Although she ultimately lost the match 4-2, 'The Duchess' unquestionably produced the standout moment. She completed a leg in the minimum nine darts, a notable achievement in the MODUS Live Lounge.
According to the organisers, Van Leuven is only the third female player to hit a televised nine-darter. The Dutch star has added another remarkable milestone to her career, following in the footsteps of Beau Greaves, who famously hit one earlier in the year during Players Championship 6.
The perfect leg did not translate into victory. Klose won 4-2 and strengthened his strong position in Group A. The German tops the pool and maintained his good form against Van Leuven.
Even so, the match will be remembered above all for the Dutch player's feat. A nine-darter is one of the rarest moments in darts, and Van Leuven's perfect leg carried extra shine due to its historic significance. With nine perfect darts, 'The Duchess' made history on Wednesday afternoon.
