“I’VE HAD SO MANY PEOPLE MESSAGE ME” – SCOTT WILLIAMS REVEALS IMPACT OF JAACKMAATE PARTNERSHIP BEYOND DARTS

Scott Williams is already seeing the effect of having JaackMaate in his corner, with the former PDC World Darts Championship semi-finalist revealing he has been inundated with messages from people interested in buying his playing shirt. The Englishman has linked up with the host of the hugely popular Happy Hour podcast, opening Williams up to an audience extending well beyond those who regularly follow the PDC circuit.

“He’s got so many fans who aren’t involved in darts,” Williams explained in an interview with Oche180. “I’ve had so many people message me saying, ‘When is this shirt available? Because we want the logo. We want a shirt with the logo on.’” For Williams, it is particularly satisfying given that his relationship with JaackMaate began from the other side of the screen. “Jack’s awesome. I’ve known him for a couple of years,” he said. “I’ve watched and listened to his podcast religiously over the last few years, so to have him come to me and message me and say he’s interested and wants to have a chat about this and that, I absolutely love it.”

After JaackMaate made contact, the pair sat down together before Williams subsequently appeared on Happy Hour. “We sat down, had a chat, then I did his podcast and we kind of came to an agreement,” Williams explained. The resulting partnership has put the Happy Hour branding on Williams' shirt and given the darts star access to an audience that does not necessarily overlap with his own. The interest in that shirt has already caught Williams' attention, and supporters hoping to get hold of one themselves should not have too much longer to wait. “It is available soon, for anyone who watches!” he revealed.

Williams was keen, however, not to make JaackMaate the sole focus when discussing those supporting his career. He also highlighted the backing he receives from his other sponsors and from Potters, whom Williams described as one of his closest friends. “All my sponsors are fantastic and they have their own little bits and bobs that they do,” he said. “Potters is one of my closest friends and he follows me wherever he can. I’m getting messages here, there, left, right and centre. So yeah, not just Jack, all of them are fantastic. But having Jack, with such a wide spectrum of visual and audio listeners, it’s great to have someone like him in my corner.”

That reach is already showing itself in practical terms, with Williams receiving interest from outside the usual darts audience and the Happy Hour-branded version of his shirt set to become available to supporters soon.
