WDF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZE MONEY CONFIRMED: £50,000 FOR OPEN CHAMPION, £25,000 FOR WOMEN'S WINNER AS LAKESIDE RETURN CONFIRMED

The WDF World Championship prize money has been confirmed ahead of the tournament at Lakeside, which is due to take place between November 27 and December 6 at the home of World Darts. The overall fund has seen a slight increase this year, with the boost coming in the form of the youth prize money due to the sponsorship of Deta Hedman and Paul James. Accordingly, it remains the largest total prize fund for a set of tournaments outside of the PDC.

The Open Champion will once again take home £50,000, while the women's champion seals £25,000 — the highest prize available for a women's tournament anywhere in the darting world. In the Open event, the runner-up receives £16,000, semi-finalists claim £8,000, and quarter-finalists are set for £4,000. Last 16 players earn £2,000, last 32 take £1,250, and last 48 pick up £750. On the women's side, the runner-up is set for £8,000, semi-finalists claim £4,000, quarter-finalists receive £2,000, last 16 earn £1,000, and last 24 take £750.

In the Youth event, the winner claims £3,250 while the runner-up is set for £1,600. Semi-finalists earn £1,000, quarter-finalists £500, and first-round losers £350. The Girls champion will claim £1,650 and the runner-up is set for £1,000, with semi-finalists earning £500 and first-round exits bringing £300.

The format remains unchanged and the tournament will be broadcast on WDF YouTube as well as BBC iPlayer, S4C and Sport 1 in Germany. The Open event begins with the first round, second round and last 16 played as best of five sets, before increasing to best of seven sets for the quarter-finals, best of nine for the semi-finals and best of 11 for the final. In the Women's event, the first round and last 16 are best of three sets, followed by best of five for the quarter-finals and semi-finals and best of seven for the final. The Youth event starts with best-of-three-set matches in the first round and quarter-finals, moving to best of five for the semi-finals and best of seven for the final. In the Girls' event, the first round and semi-finals are best of three sets, with the final played as best of five sets.

The field will be confirmed after the Lakeside Open on October 31st, with the last chance qualifier taking place at Lakeside on Sunday November 1. The draw will be conducted on the week commencing November 2nd and will be broadcast on the WDF YouTube channel.
