Michael van Gerwen and Vincent van der Voort produced a remarkable moment during a joint practice session on Tuesday, combining to hit a perfect nine-dart leg while livestreaming and answering questions from fans.
Van der Voort, the former professional who has since retired from competitive darts, set the perfect leg in motion by opening with a maximum 180. Van Gerwen stepped up next and the three-time world champion matched his close friend, also landing all three darts in treble 20. After six darts, the scoreboard showed 360 points, leaving 141 for the perfect leg.
Van der Voort then had the honour of completing the nine-darter, taking the classic route via treble 20, treble 19 and double 12. Both players later shared the footage on Instagram.
The moment capped a special session for the two close friends, who were livestreaming together as they fielded questions from fans before the nine-dart finish stole the show.
