Gary Anderson and Gerwyn Price gave their Players Championship Finals hopes a major boost with strong runs in Leicester, while Luke Humphries continued his remarkable season by climbing into the top 10 of the Players Championship Order of Merit after winning his fourth ProTour title of the year.
Humphries, who was previously ranked 23rd, surged to ninth place following his victory in Leicester. The win added crucial prize money to his tally, moving him to £67,000 in the standings. Fellow finalist Niels Zonneveld also benefited from his run to the final, rising to 21st with £55,250. Michael van Gerwen, who had been in the 30s, is now closing in on the top 20, sitting in 22nd with £55,250.
But the biggest stories came from two of the sport's biggest names. Gary Anderson, who looked set to miss out on Minehead as of today, produced a run to the latter stages to climb 11 spots to 57th with £36,250, putting him in a qualifying position as things stand. Gerwyn Price, who was teetering on the edge, moved up nine places from 58th to 49th with £38,000, also securing a spot in the season-ending event if the standings hold.
With one event remaining before the cut-off, Josh Rock sits in 84th with £26,000 and is unlikely to qualify. Nathan Aspinall and Luke Littler will not play at all after again skipping more ProTours. A big final day awaits for the Minehead hunt, with Henry Coates and Mike De Decker currently on the edge of the top 64, occupying 64th and 63rd respectively with £33,250 each.
The Players Championship Order of Merit sees the top 64 players over the course of the 34-tournament season qualify for the Players Championship Finals, which take place in Minehead at the end of November. The series visited Hildesheim, Wigan, Leicester, Milton Keynes, and Den Bosch in 2026. Wessel Nijman currently leads the standings with £157,500, followed by Chris Dobey (£118,750) and Kevin Doets (£113,250).
