Sky Sports presenter Emma Paton has revealed that if her life depended on a single dart, she would trust Luke Littler without hesitation. In a Q&A with She's Got Game, Paton was asked which darter she would pick to hit a crucial dart at the decisive moment, and her answer was instant: “Littler, it’s got to be.”
Paton, 31, has been a familiar face on Sky Sports since succeeding Laura Woods in 2022, regularly rubbing shoulders with the sport’s biggest stars. Her choice of Littler comes as little surprise given the 19-year-old Englishman’s remarkable achievements. With fourteen major titles, ‘The Nuke’ already ranks among the most successful players in history, and he is the first darter to surpass three million pounds in prize money.
Littler is also chasing a unique piece of history: he aims to become the first player ever to win all eleven televised tournaments in the PDC Premier events. Having already taken the first six, he has a clear head start on the record books.
Paton also shared her views on other darts stars. She named Luke Humphries as the player who would make the best presenter, explaining, “Probably Luke Humphries just because he is the most sensible.” On walk-ons, she highlighted Nathan Aspinall, partly due to his iconic entrance to ‘Mr. Brightside’, and also mentioned Michael van Gerwen and William O’Connor as having strong walk-ons.
Interestingly, the person who impressed Paton most in her career wasn’t a darter but football legend David Beckham. “David Beckham, who walked into Sky once when I was 23 or something. I didn’t ask for a picture because I thought that was so unprofessional. Now I’m like, why did you do that? He is like my idol.” Paton, an ambassador for Winmau and creator of her own darts set, returns to television on September 28th as the World Grand Prix gets underway in Leicester.
